Raven at dusk, near Colorado Springs
The darkest day of the year has come and happily soon will be gone. Neither our resident corvids nor their devoted staff like short days and long nights. But crows have a way of brightening up even the toughest days in their own way, as noted by Robert Frost:
DUST OF SNOW
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock treeHas given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
Gwen, Stephen Crowbert, Zen, and Snafu wish you the joy of the “rebirth” of the sun and a smooth path back to spring.
