You have Found a Fledgling!

Your bird was found in a nest or on the ground. Has quite a lot of feathers but not as much as a juvinile or an adult.

Fledgling birds can be challenging as they will often fly from nests and get “stuck” on the ground. Often times if a fledge is sitting on the ground, its parents are nearby ready to feed and help this little guy out (this can sometimes take a couple hours). In this scenario it is best to leave the bird alone! Taking the Fledge from where the parents can find them can be more harmful than helpful.

Unless the bird is:

– on its side

– clearly injured

– has been sitting in the same position for over +6 hours.

Leave the bird where it is.
