Operation Pea Gravel is a success! While Gwen and Stephen were at the vet (more on that adventure below), Super Son and Super Hub removed bags of rubbish, old sticks, and other crow clutter and moved at least a ton (literally) of pea gravel from the driveway into the enclosure — all within a couple of hours. Not only does the enclosure have a new, tidy look but M. Crowbert’s access to earthworms should be severely curtailed. So far our dynamic duo has done little more than give the new substrate the ultra-hairy eyeball but if they decide it’s unacceptable, I’m sure we’ll hear about it (as will the rest of Northern Virginia).
